IMPACT 2017 has ended
Interactive Multimedia Performing Arts Collaborative Technology 

 is comprised of experienced faculty and technical assistants in dance, music, theatre, visual arts, multimedia, and arts technology. IMPACT consists of a three-week intensive multimedia creative and performance experience culminating in a staged production. This workshop provides an opportunity for students to create new interactive works, as well as to learn digital and multimedia technology. International students have the opportunity to continue to develop their spoken English skills.

Cantata Fan

English name Cantata, (Chinese name Chen Fan) was born in Shanghai, China. She studied the Chinese instrument Pipa and classical piano since 7 years old. Then She pursued studies in professional Chinese music and Western Jazz including electric bass and Jazz piano in Shanghai Conservatory for her undergraduate degree. She entered graduate studies in music education in NYU Steinhardt for the master degree. She performed in China and abroad in an All Girl Jazz Band. She also received professional recognition for her work in Chinese traditional music. She has performed live stageworks and in concert, improvising with the Pipa using technology and multimedia. She also has pursued dance improvisations as lived art, embodying her experiences and Chinese elements through expressive performance. She is passionate about performance as an interpretation of the free play between reality and the imagination.
